Certificates of use of the Engine
The boating code has deleted the Certificate Of Use Of The Engine; the document has been replaced by the Declaration Of Power released by the manufacturer, on a special model, containing technical constructive characteristics, kW power, engine size and time consumption. The usage certificate already released continues to have validity, but in case of loss, theft or damage, peripheral offices (maritime or former Provincial MCTC) are not authorized to issue its duplicate. The document is compulsory for boats (with motor within or outboard) and boats with outboard engine (technical data for those with inboard engine is given conjunctively with the navigation license).
While navigating the document must be carried on board.
In cases of loss, the duplicate both of the usage certificate and the engine power declaration, must be requested to the manufacturer or to its legal representative, at the expense of the applicant. Navigating through domestic ports, the document can be carried on board in certified copy. It is good to make use of this opportunity because, regardless of the costs and long times to obtain a duplicate of the declaration of power, in the meantime, the engine cannot be used, since a replacement document is not provided.
